Pakistan – Roadworthiness Inspection(RWI)

Pakistan Standards & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) has appointed Autoterminal Japan Ltd.(ATJ) as an inspection company of roadworthiness inspection for Pakistan. All Used Motor Vehicles is required to ensure the certificate of road worthiness inspection prior to importation into Pakistan.

All used vehicles arriving in Pakistan will require an ATJ certificate of Roadworthiness (COR) to comply with import regulations on arrival in Pakistan.

Pakistan – Roadworthiness Inspection(RWI)

From April 1, 2026, pre-shipment inspections commenced in all countries where ATJ operates, including Japan, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America.

Requirements for a valid ATJ certificate of roadworthiness are:

  • 5-year-old vehicles are allowed. (Passenger cars, SUVs, Buses, Station Wagons, Trucks, and all commercial vehicles) Please note that age is calculated based on the year of manufacture, not the first registration year.
  • Imports through overseas schemes – 5-Year-old SUV allowed & 3-Year-old Cars allowed.
  • The vehicle has not been involved in any accident
  • Vehicles with tampered mileage are not permitted
  • Interior Condition must be tidy and clean with no stains or damage
  • Exterior Condition must be clean with no bumps, dents, or dimples
  • Engine condition must be sound and functional
  • Vehicles exported from Japan and the United Arab Emirates must pass a radiation inspection
  • Exhaust gas tests must be passed
  • Noise levels must be within permissible limits
  • Windshield and all glass must be free from cracks and breakage
  • Airbags must be functioning
  • The vehicle must be roadworthy in all aspects.
